So finally the much awaited Talent Hunt has happened !!
After rigorous preparations and organisations of last couple of months , part of which was digitally driven, Cricview finally made this highly challenging event happen on 24th and 25th May 2019 where 600 plus candidates from accross 26 states mostly from lower income group were assembled to showcase their skills in front of watchful eyes of some of the top coaches of Indian cricket namely Dr Sanjay Bharadwaj of LBS and Mr Raj Kumar Sharma of West Delhi cricket Academy , Uttam Majumder and many others. There was a huge rush for online registrations which was organized in the website cricketalenthunt.com at the start of this initiative . The registrations were filled up in the month of March itself. Though initially the tentative dates of holding this event was thought of in April ,but due to board exams, general elections, IPL etc finally the dates of holding this event were fixed in the last week of May.
This was one of the biggest talent hunts ever , organized by Cricview and it proved to be a resounding success. 600 plus aspirants were part in this mega event in the searing heat of Delhi , on the grounds of Gurugram in an effort to get free 1 year sponsorships in some of the best cricket academies in and around Delhi. Video cameras were organized to capture the talents on display at the net sessions and a panel of six judges from amongst the top coaches were there to give marks to the players according to various parameters. The presence of former Indian fast bowler TA Sekhar and spinner of yesteryears Raghuram Bhatt added more importance to the event. With presence of video cameras to capture the talents and the panel of esteemed cricket judges this was a very fairly conducted event. The top talents chosen from this event will hone their skills in some of the top cricket academies viz. Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy ( Gautam Gambhir, Amit Mishra amongst past students) , West Delhi Cricket Academy (past student Virat Kohli) , Sonnet Club (Ashis Nehra, Rishabh Pant past products), Surinder Khanna academy etc . It needed a lot of effort to organize the whole event . This event was covered by India News channel, NNIS etc . Some of the comments from a couple of leading personalities who attended this event were as under.
Raj kumar Sharma: “Brilliant initiative by cricview , Lots of young talents came from far off remote places who had no idea how to take forward their interest and we observed few talents who can excel if they get proper coaching and if they themselves are ready to work hard “
TA Sekhar : “ Great pleasure to be here in this event. Tremendous initiative by leap sports academy and cricview to organize this talent hunt at grass root levels . Appreciate the hard work put in by cricview and want them to continue in their initiative to unearth more talents for under 17, under 19 , IPL and further . Have myself chose one fast bowling talent. For those not selected please don’t lose heart and keep working hard to prove me wrong.”
At the end of this Talent hunt a T20 final match was played between CV Champs and CV Kings. It turned out to be an exciting game of cricket and chasing 140 scored by Champs, the Kings fell short by just 2 runs. Brief scores:

The brain behind this mega event was none other than Cricview owner Mr Rohit Singh. It was no small matter to first brainstorm and then put in place all the various areas of activities chronologically in order to make this event happen successfully — from ruthlessly driving his own team to creating the digital platforms to hosting live youtube shows and handling personally massive amount of questions that was coming from aspiring youngsters from all directions in the whatsapp groups and answering them with monumental patience. Rohit has a heart of gold and his tremendous initiative and efforts to bring up the hidden cricketing talents across the country from grass root level and from low income group is no mean achievement. The energy and drive he has shown for past two months to make this happen using all his contacts needs to be simply stand up and applauded. Not to forget the big contributions of all other team members who were associated with him to make this event a success. The whole cricket community has taken note of this event and praises are coming through. This event has become a huge hit amongst teenage youngsters and they are pouring their heart out in praising Rohit who intends to make this happen yearly and with him at the top and his dedication and determination , we all know this initiative will continue and hopefully bring future stars in Indian cricket.
Cricview talent hunt has only just started . It will keep getting bigger and stronger and will take the country by storm in coming years.
