On the twenty-fourth day of Dhaka Women’s Premier Division Cricket League, Rupali Bank Krira Parishad and Abahani Ltd registered convincing wins over Sk. Rasel Sports Development Academy and Mohammedan Sporting Club respectively on the third day of Super League.

Match 1: Sk. Rasel Sports Development Academy vs Rupali Bank Krira Parishad
Rupali Bank Krira Parishad won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers Shuktara Rahman and Jannatul Ferdous Tithi managed to put up 31 runs before the latter fell for 11. Shuktara Rahman scored 19 off 35 while Shohaly Akhter failed to impress. Farzana Hoque Pinky scored 91 off 108, including 11 fours and Shashikala scored run-a-ball 41. Lata Mondol scored 25 and took the side to 224 for 6 after 50 overs.
Chasing the total, openers of Sk. Rasel Sports Development Academy, Mishu Khan fell for a duck whereas Chamari Athapaththu smashed 94 off 111, including 15 boundaries. Rumana Ahmed supported her pretty well with her knock of 61. Both added 127 runs but got dismissed in the consecutive balls. However, their efforts went in vain as the other batters failed to put up the rest of the run and their chase ended up at 218 after 50 overs, losing by mere 6 runs. Farzana Hoque Pinky was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ for her knock.
Match 2: Mohammedan Sporting Club vs Abahani Ltd
Abahani Ltd won the toss and elected to bat first. Both the openers Montaha Khatun Monty and Sharmin Sultana fell for a duck. However, Shampa Biswas and Sunanda Yetrekar steadied the ship with 61 runs. Shamima Sultana also failed to impress with the bat. Later, Taj Nehar’s unbeaten 42 off 54 and Jahanara Alam’s 29 off 40 guided them to 170.
Chasing the total, openers of Mohammedan Sporting Club, Jinnat Asiya Aurthy and Sharmin Akter Supta steadied the ship with 49 runs before Sunanda Yetrekar picked up her first wicket and sent the former in the dugout for 24. Sharmin Akter Supta scored 21 off 54. Ritu Moni scored 19 while Nuzhat Tasnia Tupma scored 23 off 50. However, disciplined bowling from the bowlers helped them to restrict within 158, claiming a 12-run victory. Sunanda Yetrekar scalped 4 wickets and was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for her outstanding spell (9.5-1-26-4).
