Khelaghar Shamaj Kalyan Shamity wins the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League

On the final day of Dhaka Women’s Premier Division Cricket League, Khelaghar Shamaj Kalyan Shamity and Rupali Bank Krira Parishad registered convincing wins over Sk. Rasel Sports Development Academy and Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd respectively.

Match 1: Khelaghar Shamaj Kalyan Shamity vs Sk. Rasel Sports Development Academy

Khelaghar Shamaj Kalyan Shamity won the toss and elected to field first. While opener Mishu Khan fell for mere 3, Chamari Atapaththu scored 14 off 18. Shaila Sharmeen scored 17 whereas Tain Tahera failed to impress with the bat. However, Rumana Ahmed steadied the ship with a 70-ball 37. Tajia Akter later scored 33 off 69 and took the side to 151 before bowled out within 49.2 overs. Laboni Akter bagged a 4-wicket haul while Fahima Khatun took 2 wickets for Khelaghar Shamaj Kalyan Shamity.

Chasing the total, openers of Khelaghar Shamaj Kalyan Shamity, Rubaiya Hayat Jilik and Sathi Rani Barman scored 29 and 10 respectively. However, Chamari Athapaththu struck twice and picked up Sanjida Islam and Fahima Khatun for 2 and 1 respectively. Later, Nigar Sultana Joty and Mukta Magre built a partnership and took the team get past the line. Nigar Sultana Joty remained unbeaten at 57 while Mukta Magre scored 30 off 46. Nigar Sultana Joty was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ for her unbeaten knock. Khelaghar Shamaj Kalyan Shamity became the champion of Dhaka Women’s Premier Division Cricket League.

Match 2: Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd vs Rupali Bank Krira Parishad

Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers Jinnat Asiya Aurthy and Sharmin Akter Supta added 51 runs before the latter fell for 15. Another opener Jinnat Asiya Aurthy scored 76 while Disha Kasat supported well with a 70-ball 39. However, Sathira Jakir Jessy’s 4-wicket haul dismantled their middle order and they managed to put up 187 after 50 overs.

While chasing, openers of Rupali Bank Krira Parishad, Shuktara Rahman smashed 99 with 6 fours and a six while another opener Isma Tanjim scored 21. Though Farzana Haq Pinky and Sathira Jakir Jessy failed to score big, Lata Mondol scored 42 off 53 with 5 boundaries and handed over the win with 4 balls to spare. Shuktara Rahman named the ‘Player of the Match’ for her wonderful knock of 99.
