Both Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have started their Indian Premier League (IPL) with the loss. Where SRH lost a sure win game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR); RR’s game became a controversial one due to Buttler’s dismissal.
RR were not happy with the dismissal of their wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler; who was out ‘Mankaded’ by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) captain Ravichandran Ashwin on Monday. From there on, KXIP have bounced back and won the game.
On the other hand, SRH, the runners-up of 2018, failed to stop a dangerous Andre Russell at the Eden Gardens where they failed to defend 13 runs in the final over. The team is badly in need of Kane Williamson’s presence. Hence, some changes could be seen in the game as well.
While RR will need to stable the middle-order who can anchor the inning till the end. Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi and Krishnappa Gowtham all need to step up if they want to see their side win as they lost seven wickets for 16 runs.
Players to watch out for:
The Australian opener and former captain of SRH made a great comeback to IPL after rulled out last year due to Cricket Australia’s ban for ball-tampering scandle. Warner smashed 85 off 53 balls against KKR and guided his side to a huge competitive total.
The England wicketkeeper-batsman has been in a formidable form from the very first game. He scored 548 runs last year at an average of 54.8 with five half-centuries. Now he has started with 69 off 43 balls before he was controversially dismissed by Ashwin.
