“Shreyas Iyer never got intimidated” : Kohli

Virat Kohli was impressed by Shreyas Iyer’s batting in the ODI series. In the media interaction, Kohi heaped a lot of praise for Iyer saying that he never got intimidated and realised the match situation very well showing his class and ability and also taking away a lot of pressure off his partner by batting positively. Kohli feels that Iyer will be able to deliver in the middle order for a longer term if he keeps up this performance levels.
Kohli also expressed happiness on his own form and that it helped India to win the series . He expressed his concern when Windies were off to a rollicking start but said that those 2 wickets after the big stand and then the subsequent rain broke the Windies momentum else the target would have been very stiff on a gradually slowing pitch.
Kohli revealed that the thumb injury he sustained was not as serious as he first apprehended and so he will be good to go for 1st test.
The Indian skipper also had words of praise for Chris Gayle who played a brutal innings at the start, prasing his qualities as a player and as a human being.
