Lefthanders are always very elegant when it comes to playing drives and cuts. Here we have made an effort to showcase some of the best cover drivers amongst left handed batsmen and share short footages of them below like we did for righthanders earlier.
Gary Sobers : All rounder per excellence and wide array of shots as a batsman. Used to hit flowing cover drives and thrilling to watch.
Greame Pollock : One of the best cover drivers of all time. Minimum footwork and absolutely majestic . Natural cover driver hence totally effortless.
Roy Fredericks: Very exciting to watch in 70s and used to hit cracking cover drives along with several other shots.
David Gower : Most elegant cover driver in the 80s . Great to watch. Was a beautiful batsman.
Allan Border : Never much discussed but had a cracking cover drive and used to score heavily off it. Quick to pounce on anything fuller.
Brian Lara : Brilliant batsman and a majestic cover driver. Great batswing. Wonderful to watch.
Saeed Anwar : When in flow , cannot miss his batting. Natural strokeplayer. And cover drives? Comparable to world’s best. Great hand eye coordination.
Sourav Ganguly: Most natural cover driver of recent past generation. Great use of hands. Absolutely gorgeous.
Adam Gilchrist : Most free flowing stroke player and an absolutely cracking cover driver. Thrilling to watch.
While it’s a treat to watch the above players , there were many other past lefthanders who could have also got into the above list .
