Women’s U-23 Challenger Trophy is all set to start from April 20

Women’s U-23 Challenger Trophy is all set to begin from April 20 in Ranchi. The All-India Women’s Selection Committee met in New Delhi earlier this month and selected 39 players; who will be featured in the tournament. Three teams – India Red, India Blue and India Green will be played in the tournament which will be played from April 20 to April 24.

All the three teams comprised of few International players and the players who are pretty near to get their maiden call up. India Red team have the International players Arundhati Reddy and Harleen Deol; who have earned their call ups in the last year and earlier this year respectively.

India Green team have the International players Radha Yadav and Priya Punia; who have earned their call ups in the last year and earlier this year respectively. Along with them, Devika Vaidya and Nuzhat Parween will be played for India Blue; who made their debut for India in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Apart from them, there are the other players who have performed brilliantly in the recently concluded U-23 One Day League. Third highest run-getter, Shefali Verma; who scored 543 runs in 8 matches, including 3 centuries and 2 half-centuries, will be played for India Blue. Along with her, Tanusree Sarkar also; who have scored 458 runs, including 1 century and 2 half-centuries.

Tejal Hasabnis, who bagged 18 wickets in 8 matches in the recently concluded U-23 One Day League, will be a part of India Red; while Sushree Dibyadarshini, who scalped 15 wickets in 8 matches, will be played for India Green team.

India Red will be led by Harleen Deol; while Sushree Dibyadarshini will lead India Green team. India Blue team will be captained by Devika Vaidya.
